EFT
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques and is a treatment technique that combines the qualities of Western and Eastern cultures. This technique was developed by Gary Craig, an American therapist. With EFT, he combines two branches of psychology (exposure therapy and cognitive therapy) and acupressure (like acupuncture, but without the needles 😊, because who says healing has to hurt?).
When applying EFT, you tap various acupressure points on your body while simultaneously recalling a traumatic experience in your mind. Numerous clinical studies show that this reduces or even completely eliminates the stress response to the traumatic event. This allows the memory to remain, but the emotional charge (e.g., pain, fear, sadness, helplessness, etc.) is neutralized. This can have a tremendous impact on your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health and development.
